As a major communications service provider based in South-western Ontario, Execulink Telecom’s business has seen a steady growth, not only in increased customer base, but as well the demand for more bandwidth. Supporting both residential and business customers, Execulink Telecom continues to offer services that are meeting their needs for today and tomorrow.

Ever increasing requirements for more Internet and fast growing high demand applications such as IPTV, Execulink has quickly outgrown our OC48 SONET network. To meet the current demands and the ability to expand gracefully over time has meant Execulink Telecom must grow its fibre based network.  Execulink has partnered with EIT (Eastern Independent Telephone) to enhance our network using Huawei designed add-drop DWDM multiplexers. This has given us a robust 250 KM, 8 site DWDM network with a starting capacity of 8 - 10Gig wavelengths. In fact, the system can grow to support 40 10Gig wavelengths with only the addition of Optical Add/Drop Mux’s and client cards.

In the spring of 2012, over a single night, Execulink’s existing traffic was migrated to the new DWDM system. Not surprising, no customers’ traffic was impacted. This is a testament to careful planning and selection of quality products.

Designed around Huawei’s OSN1800 CWDM/DWDM platform, a variety of client cards can be added supporting FE, GE, 10GE, OC3/12/48/192 and even T1’s; giving us the ability to connect to more customers and types of networks. Working with EIT, using the Huawei OSN1800 also allowed us to migrate traffic from the old legacy equipment efficiently and now have the ability to expand the capacity on our existing fibres for years to come.

Execulink will continue to grow, meet new challenges and has assured that our network and services will be there for our customers when they need it and where they want it.
