POWER LIGHT ON THE ATA IS RED

Home / Support / Residential Support / Phone Support / Phone Troubleshooting / Power Light on the ATA is Red

The power light being red generally indicates that the ATA device is failing to properly start up. If the other lights are flashing, the pattern indicates the exact error. Here are a few things you can try to fix this problem:

1. Make sure the proper power adapter is plugged in. Linksys SPA2102 devices require a power adapter
that outputs +5 volts, direct current, and 2 amperes. (This is often shortened to: +5VDC, 2A)

2. Try plugging the ATA into another electrical outlet and bypassing all surge protectors, battery backups,
    etc.

3. If none of the above solves the problem, the unit likely requires replacement. For further assistance,
    please contact technical support.

4. Be sure to unplug the power adapter and return it with the ATA. The adapter may be faulty and could
potentially cause the same issue with a replacement unit if kept and used.
