What are Nameservers and How do I Change Them?
You may have heard about “changing nameservers” when managing your domain. Nameservers determine where your DNS records are hosted. Every domain has at least two nameservers (eg. example.com might use nameservers like ns1.exampledns.com and ns2. exampledns.com) and changing them shifts where your DNS settings are managed.
For example:
- If you’re using Execulink nameservers, DNS is managed within your Execulink account.
- If you switch to another provider’s nameservers, DNS settings are managed through them instead.
