If you’re having trouble remembering your Wi-Fi password and you rent a wireless router (or modem with wireless capabilities) from Execulink, here’s how to recover it!
Step 1: First, login to your MyExeculink account at http://execulink.ca/myexeculink
Step 2: Once you’ve logged in, click the Internet tab.
Step 3: Locate and click on the appropriate modem and a new page will open.
Step 4: Scroll down to the Encryption section and beside Key enter your new password.
Step 5: Hit Save Settings.
Tip: Make sure your Wi-Fi password is not too obvious and includes enough special characters to make it impossible to figure out!
How do I boost my Internet speed?
Have a fast internet connection but it doesn’t always seem to live up to its name? Let’s get to the bottom of your internet slowdowns so you can get back to enjoying your favourite shows!
It’s your Wi-Fi!
If you are experiencing slow internet, it may be due to a weak wireless signal.
Tip: Move, adjust and boost your router with these awesome tricks!
You left some Apps running!
Apps and programs that are running in the background tend to be connection hogs and may cause your internet to become slow.
Tip: Sometimes your computer conducts necessary updates in the background. Try configuring your PC to notify you before it begins any updates or schedule them for a later time. Also remember to shut off all apps and programs once you are finished using them.
Are you using a dual band router?
Try to reset your router. If that doesn’t work consider purchasing a dual band router from Execulink!
Tip: For more information about the benefits of dual band routers, keep reading!
Use an Ethernet cable!
Ethernet connections generally allow for faster speeds, less interference and lower latency than wireless connections.
Tip: Connect your modem directly via Ethernet cable!
Contact Execulink to get a faster Internet package!
Sometimes your internet may be slow due to your internet package. Here at Execulink our mission is to connect you to everything that matters with the awesome experience you deserve. We’ve all been there: you’re streaming your favourite show when it comes to an abrupt halt and the buffering icon endlessly spins in circles on the screen? We’ve got some quick tips to help you get the most out of your Wi-Fi signal!
Don’t hide your Router: Routers may not make the best home décor, but that doesn’t mean you should hide them!
Tip: If you want the best signal make sure your router is placed out in the open, keep it elevated and have your router reside near the centre of your home.
Stay Away from Appliances: Much like Walkie Talkies, routers can experience channel interference too! This can be caused from multiple things like your neighbours or other household electronics!
Tip: To counteract this, switch the channel your router is on.
Adjust your Antennas: Make sure that your router has an antenna, and if it does, fiddle with the antenna to find the best possible placement that maximizes your signal.
Tip: Point your antenna towards the spot in your house where the Wi-Fi is the weakest- it will help improve the signal to that area.
Buy a Range Extender: Routers usually have a certain distance that they will send a signal to reliably. Any farther and the signal will get weak and slow.
Tip: To help enhance the distance your Wi-Fi signal reaches purchase a wireless range extender.
Update your Firmware: If you have an older router you may need to update it. Software changes are key to help make your router faster and perform better.
Tip: By simply updating the firmware on your router it might boost your signal and help increase your speed as well.
Keep your Network Private: One of the best ways to increase your Wi-Fi signal and speed is to make sure your Wi-Fi is always private. This will prevent others from using your network and will protect you more when you are online.
Tip: Set up a Wi-Fi password!
How can I get the most out of my router?
As we increase the amount of electronic devices we bring into our homes, comes the increase in network interference. Switching to a dual band router may be the fix you need to optimize your internet experience- that’s why we’re giving you the low down on dual band routers and how to use them to your advantage!
Single band routers operate with a 2.4Ghz frequency. This is the original Wi-Fi standard, however many household items such as baby monitors, cordless home phones and other Wi-Fi routers use this same frequency which can ultimately cause interference. Introducing the dual band router! These routers utilize two different frequencies: the 2.4Ghz plus the 5Ghz. Therefore with two alternative networks to choose from, you increase your wireless bandwidth so you can enjoy an enhanced router experience!
Tip: Make sure your router is positioned in the centre of your home and then ensure that both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks have unique SSID’s (Network Names). Don't have a dual band router? Consider purchasing one from Execulink! For more information or assistance contact Execulink at 1-877-393-2854, we’d love to chat with you!
We understand how frustrating it can be to run into service issues. Hopefully these troubleshooting tips and tricks will help to alleviate some of that frustration and give you the Telecom experience you deserve!

Staying healthy, whether it is through exercise or eating habits, is one of the most common New Year’s resolutions. But how do you know what type of exercise will get you the best results? Deciding what to do with old electronics is never an easy task. You can take them to an electronic recycling program or donate them. But have you ever considered using them for decorations or DIY projects around your home? That’s right, you can use your old electronics to make everyday household items, jewelry, or fun crafts. Check out this list below to kick start your repurposing projects!
1. CD Coasters: Take old CD’s that you don’t need or use, decorate them, and use them as coasters. This repurpose just needs some sand paper, fabric, old CD’s and glue.
2. Fish tank: Use a vintage TV or an old desktop computer screen to make a fish tank.
3. Sandwich Container: With all of those CD’s being turned into coasters, what are you going to do with the holder that held those burnable CD’s? Why not decorate the holder and then use it as a bagel or sandwich container.
4. Pet bed: Turn a vintage TV into a bed for your fluffy friends.
5. Storage Container: Use old floppy discs (yes, old floppy discs) to make a storage container by gluing them together.
6. Earrings: Use old keyboard keys or remote control buttons to make your own earrings.
7. Guitar Picks: Use old circuit boards to make a new guitar pick.
These are just a few of many different ways to repurpose your old electronic devices, and something to do other than just taking them to a recycling program. All of these options are environmentally friendly and your old technology will never go out of style!
