SWIFT Broadband Projects Bring Fibre Connectivity To 1,300 Homes In Lambton County

(Lambton County, ON) September 23, 2022 – SWIFT today announced high-speed internet service is now available to an additional 1,300 homes and businesses in Lambton County.

“Having access to a strong reliable broadband connection is vital in today’s highly connected digital world in which internet plays a role in just about every ordinary day-to-day activity,” said Barry Field, Executive Director, SWIFT. “With the construction of broadband infrastructure now complete on two additional SWIFT funded projects in Lambton County, we are proud to work alongside Execulink Telecom to provide an additional 1,300 homes and businesses with access to seamless high-speed connectivity.”

As part of SWIFT’s Southwestern Ontario broadband expansion plan, Execulink Telecom has completed the construction of two high-speed fibre-optic projects to bring greater connectivity to the municipalities of Plympton- Wyoming and Lambton Shores.  In total more than 130 kilometres of fibre cabling was laid to provide many more residents living and working in the communities of Ravenswood, Gustin Grove, Cedar Point, Glendale Beach, Hillsborough Beach, Highland Glen, Thedford, Springvale and Jura with access to fast reliable broadband service.

“Our government is getting it done and delivering on its commitment to provide access to high-speed internet throughout rural Ontario,” said Lisa Thompson, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. “Projects like these in Lambton County that connect more communities to high-speed internet, are crucial to building a stronger Ontario. We’re helping families and farmers stay in touch with loved ones, enabling them to access supports, while providing a much-needed boost to the local economy.”

Residents located within the SWIFT funded project areas that are interested in subscribing to high-speed internet can now sign up with Execulink Telecom to receive fibre-optic connectivity to their homes and businesses.
