Managing your DNS Records Using Power DNS in MyExeculink

Follow these steps to manage your DNS records in MyExeculink:

  • Access your domain via MyExeculink 
  • Click on services and then click on “Domain Management”  
  • Click on the domain that is managed by Execulink (i.e. Name servers points to Execulink name servers).
  •  
  • Click on Manage DNS and you should be able to see the domain zone file as represented in the below picture. Note: Shown domain zone file is Execulink’s test domain’s default zone file. 

Note: You cannot EDIT/ADD Name Servers. To do so, please follow the steps here.

Adding/Updating DNS Record 

  • Record Name: Could include things such as root domain or a subdomain.  
    • If adding DNS record for the subdomain, enter @ 
    • If adding subdomain, enter the for example, in www.example.com, WWW is the subdomain and should be entered here. 
  • Record Type: Select from the dropdown list of options:
    • A
    • AAAA
    • CNAME
    • TXT
    • MX
    • SRV
  • TTL (Time to Live): Select the value from dropdown menu, Default value is “1 hour ~ 3600 Seconds”
    • 1 min ~ 60 Seconds
    • 5 min ~ 300 Seconds
    • 30 min ~ 1800 Seconds
    • 1 hour ~ 3600 Seconds
    • 24 hours ~ 86,400 Seconds
  • Content: The unique information for the DNS record such as an IP address/plain text, or a string of characters in quotes.
  • Click on “Add DNS Record” 
    • Example after simply adding a record:
  • You should be able to EDIT/DELETE the existing DNS records as per your convenience. 
    • Once the changes are made, click “save” to save the changes. 

Downloading DNS Zone File 

  • Click on “Export DNS” in the middle right corner and it should download the zone file in .txt format. 

Search the DNS Record 

  • In case there are ample DNS records, you can simply search the DNS record via the search tool. 

DNS Management History

  • To view your history of a domain name, click on “history” on the left corner and expand. 
  • As seen in the above picture you can see “failed” and “success” DNS entries. 
  • Click on “view” to check out detailed output.
