Sometimes, your computer may say you are connected to the internet, but not display any webpages.

You can test to see if you have a connection by following the steps below:

1. Go to Start, click Run or type in Run to open the Run application.

2. Type in cmd, press OK.

3. Type in ping google.ca and press Enter. Wait for a four replies then the ping statistics should show at the bottom.

4. If you get Received = 4, you are connected to the internet, you’re done! If you get ‘could not reach host’, or ‘ping request cannot be found’, type in ping 199.166.6.2

5. If you get some replies, with time=80ms or greater, ‘could not reach host’, or ‘ping request cannot be found’, try to turn off your modem for 30 seconds and turn it back on, then try to connect again and do the same thing. If that fails, call contact technical support.
