We’re excited to introduce Justin Snively, our Infrastructure Planning Specialist Supervisor at Execulink. Since joining in the spring of 2021, Justin has transitioned from leading call center support to heading a dynamic new department focused on our Fibre to the Home (FTTH) infrastructure. In this interview, he shares insights into his journey at Execulink, highlight key projects, and discuss the daily challenges and rewards of his role, all while expressing his enthusiasm for continuous learning and growth.
How long have you worked at Execulink and what is your current role?
I started at Execulink in the spring of 2021. In my current role, I am the Infrastructure Planning Specialist Supervisor. My team and I work with several departments to map, plan, and obtain permits for our growing FTTH (Fibre to the home) infrastructure.
How has your role at Execulink evolved since you first joined the company?
When I first joined the Execulink family, I was the Resource Specialist Supervisor and, in that role, I supported a team of exceptional Specialists who are responsible for the maintenance and support of the call centre teams. We also spearheaded over 100 projects in my time with the team, developing and delivering training to the people who need to know all about our new products and services. In the spring of 2024, I was given the opportunity to lead this new Infrastructure Planning department and it has been incredibly exciting to take on new challenges, learn a whole different side of our business, and work with some incredibly talented individuals.
What is the most significant project you’ve worked on, and what impact did it have on Execulink’s services?
There have been several large projects that I’ve worked on but the most important one, in my opinion, is the Two-Factor Authentication project which wrapped up earlier this year. The impact it has had on our customers and the communities that we serve has been exceptional. The project gave our customers increased security and allowed us to make sure that our systems and networks were safe and secure amidst growing threats from cyber criminals.
What’s a typical day like for you in your role, and how do you manage your team to keep everything running smoothly?
My role is very dynamic and things are always changing. No two days are ever quite the same. I like to start my day off reviewing the previous day’s notes and catching up on emails before I get to work on the business of the day. As the Infrastructure Planning department is new at Execulink, there is obviously a lot of learning that goes along with that as well.
If you could learn any new skill instantly, what would it be?
I would love to be able to learn a language immediately – but not just one…all of them! It would be amazing to be able to converse and communicate with anyone, anywhere.
