Humans of Execulink: Brianna Petrie

What’s your role at Execulink Telecom and what does a typical day look like for you?
As Execulink’s Human Resources Manager, no two days are exactly the same, which is one of the things I enjoy most about HR! A typical day for me is centered around people. Throughout the day, I partner with Employees and Leaders across the business to provide guidance, solve challenges, and support key initiatives. HR is often about connecting people with the right resources and information, ensuring communication is clear, consistent, and easy to understand. Every day is different, but the common thread is helping create a positive workplace where employees feel supported and empowered to do their best work.
How did you end up working in HR?
My path into HR began managing in a retail environment. Seeing people build confidence, develop new skills, and succeed sparked my interest in Human Resources and inspired me to pursue formal HR education. I went back to school, earned my HR designation, and made the transition into the HR field. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to support Employees and Leaders, help build positive workplace cultures, and contribute to meaningful employee experiences. It’s a career that combines my passion for people with my desire to make a positive impact every day.
What’s one thing you can’t start your day without?
Coffee!
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to focus on building genuine relationships. While skills and experience matter, the connections you make and the trust you earn can have a lasting impact. That advice has stayed with me, and is especially important in Human Resources, where people are at the center of everything we do.
What’s your favourite team memory or event?
One of my favourite team memories is our Halloween potluck. It was a great example of the team coming together in a really genuine way – everyone dressed up, shared food, and took time out of their busy schedules to connect and have fun. Moments like these help build relationships, strengthen engagement, and create a real sense of belonging. Those shared experiences are a big part of what makes our culture special!
What’s one message you’d like to share with the Execulink team?
My message to our Execulink team is simple: thank you! What makes Execulink special is our people. The collaboration, respect, and support I see across teams create an environment where everyone can succeed. The strong culture and sense of community that already exist at Execulink are what make it such a great place to work, and I’m grateful to play a role in helping that continue to grow!
