At Execulink Telecom, our team plays a key role in delivering meaningful solutions for our customers. In this Humans of Execulink feature, we’re proud to introduce Andre Scott, one of our skilled Sales Engineers. Andre’s work focuses on breaking down technical challenges, simplifying complex ideas, and helping businesses implement solutions that set them up for long-term success.

  1. Tell us a bit about your role at Execulink Telecom

I see my function as removing technical and process obstacles from our sales team. I translate technical concepts into a language that is easily digestible, both for the team and our customers. Additionally, I look at our business ecosystem and recommend changes to obsolescent solutions, and new technologies that could be beneficial to our customers.

  1. What’s one of the biggest connectivity challenges businesses face today, and how do you help solve it?

Is there ever one challenge? Since I must choose, it’s the availability of Fibre or near Fibre access for offices outside of major metropolitan areas. With XaaS offerings trending, the lack of high-speed internet access can be detrimental to efficiency and cost savings.

  1. How do you work with businesses to ensure their tools and setups are ready for future growth?

Requirements gathering. That is an element of (business) sales that will never change. It is always important to put people above processes and technology. We need to understand what the users want to achieve, then their current infrastructure and make recommendations accordingly.

  1. What’s your advice for a business looking to optimize its current connectivity setup?

There is no magic bullet for optimization. We need to understand the technology a company has and how that company uses its technology to achieve its business goals. Are they maximizing what they have? Do we need to add Execulink’s Managed Hardware to implement QoS? Maybe their private cloud is in the wrong location. It should be in Execulink’s COLO. And I could write essays on this one – Is security a part of the design, or is it an afterthought? This answer is highly specific to the customer and would reveal itself after a conversation with a Sales Agent and/or Engineer.

  1. Can you share an example of a time when Execulink’s solutions helped a business overcome a challenge or seize a new opportunity?

The product that easily comes to mind is our Hosted Phone solution. I’ve seen many implementations that allow customers to have their main and remote offices appear as one cohesive business group. Additionally, with the prevalence of Hybrid working, workers with a receptionist function can manage calls at home in a similar manner to how they would at work.

  1. What excites you most about the future of business connectivity and how Execulink is helping businesses adapt?

The post 2020 apocalyptic event which we will not name has changed the way we work. Hybrid working is here to stay, and Execulink continues to enable our customers with UCaaS solutions as well as enabling private cloud environments at an affordable price. I am optimistic about the uptake of our Teams Direct Routing, Hosted Phone and Data Center Colocation offerings.  Honorable mention to the Universal Broadband Fund project which aims to connect 98% of Canadians to high-speed internet by 2026.

Andre’s insights highlight the importance of reliable connectivity in helping businesses overcome challenges and prepare for what’s ahead. If your business is ready to optimize its connectivity or explore customized solutions, reach out to us today. Execulink is here to help you make the most of your technology.
