Internet Disconnects After Send/Receive

Some email programs such as Outlook Express and Eudora have an option to automatically disconnect from the Internet when finished downloading messages. If you find that you are being disconnected when new email finishes downloading or after sending out email messages, this may be the problem.

The following instructions will help you determine whether “Hang Up When Finished” is selected.

Outlook Express

1. Go to the Tools menu and select Options.

2. Click the Connection or Dialup tab.

3. Uncheck the Hang up after sending and receiving option.

4. Click the OK button.

Eudora

1. Go to the Tools menu and select Options.

2. Select the Internet Dialup category on the left.

3. On the right side of the Options window uncheck both Hang up after receiving and sending and Close connection on Exit.

4. Click OK.
